Scott Brown – Founder/ CEO

Through his years working in the hospitality industry, Mr. Brown has established relationships with many leading U.S. hotel brands, hotel management companies and investment banks. In 2007, Mr. Brown raised over $100 million of seed capital in a financing deal with a boutique U.S. private equity firm.

Mr. Brown’s hotel development experience includes partnering with the Hyatt group in his first two-hotel development projects and building a portfolio of hotels in California. Mr. Brown merged ABA with Connor & Gaskins, a general contractor specializing in full service hotel, select service hotel and multi-family luxury residential developments.

Prior to founding ABA, Mr. Brown was a Vice President in the Private Banking and Investment Group (PBIG) at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith. During Mr. Brown’s nine-year career at Merrill Lynch, he raised over $1.5 billion of new capital for his team and managed the investment direction of those assets. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Mr. Brown spent four years in Australia and New Zealand as the operations manager for Columbia Sportswear Australia.

Mr. Brown is responsible for setting the vision for ABA, overseeing its operations, sourcing new development opportunities and managing investor relationships for the Partnership.

Craig E. Gaskins – Construction

Mr. Gaskins began his career in 1999 after graduating with a B.S. Degree from the University of Florida in Building Construction and a Master’s Degree from Auburn University in Building Science. Mr. Gaskins has over eleven years of estimating experience with Boran Craig Barber Engel Construction, serving as an Owner and the Vice President of Estimating before becoming an owning partner of Connor & Gaskins and now partner at ABA Hospitality.

Prior to joining ABA Hospitality Mr. Gaskins along with his partner Mr. Connor built Connor & Gaskins, a successful construction and construction management company with completion of over $1 billion dollars in hospitality based projects in the U.S. Mr. Gaskins has direct responsibilities for contract oversight and review, cost accounting and real time construction cost tracking and management.

Janet Fioriti – Operations

Ms. Fioriti is an industry veteran with over 25 years in the Hospitality industry. Prior to joining ABA Ms. Fioriti worked for Marriott International, IHG and several franchise partners specializing in Hilton and Hyatt branded hotels.

Ms. Fioriti has held several executive positions including National Director of Revenue Growth Services, Director Revenue Impact and most recently as Vice President at Huntington Hotel Group for whom she opened the first hotel and guided the performance of the portfolio through its growth to 25 hotels.

Ms. Fioriti is responsible for revenue management, top-line sales performance, operating performance, quality assurance and capital expenditures for each asset in the Partnership’s portfolio.

Paul Drummond – Design & Development

Mr. Drummond’s 18-year career spans all aspects of real estate development and private equity transactions. Mr. Drummond’s expertise includes development in luxury residential golf course communities, high-rise condominiums, condo-hotels, branded luxury hotels and complex mixed-use retail, office and residential properties.

Mr. Drummond has held several executive positions throughout his career including Division President of WCI, a New York Stock Exchange listed Homebuilder. At WCI he was responsible for building and managing a team that completed over 25 luxury high-rise condominiums and multiple hotels with sales in excess of $3 billion.

Mr. Drummond has leveraged his degree in Urban Design and Planning on a myriad of residential and resort projects. Mr. Drummond’s background includes extensive experience in site identification and acquisitions of land and/or distressed assets, entitlements and approvals including complex rezoning and PUD’s, government issued concessions and MOU’s.

Barry Connor – Construction

Mr. Connor has over 18 years of experience in vertical construction spanning large resort/hotel projects, condominiums, and mixed use projects, with deals including single projects in excess of $220 million and aggregate experience of over $7.5 billion.

Mr. Connor’s previous experience includes 14 years as owner and Executive Vice President of Boran Craig Barber Engel Construction and Connor & Gaskins Unlimited. Mr. Connor holds degrees in Architecture & Engineering and Masters of Architecture and is an active member of the AIA and National Council of Architecture Review Board.

Mr. Connor has direct responsibilities for evaluating acquisitions and will provide “real time” construction estimate support and cost analysis relative to the cost feasibility of a project.

Jerry Crews – CFO

Mr. Crews is a CPA and has considerable experience working with private and publicly owned construction and related companies through his experience as a partner of the international accounting firm, Arthur Anderson & Company.

Mr. Crews was associated with Arthur Anderson for over 25 years. Mr. Crews will manage all aspects of ABA’s financial operations, including day-to-day financials, preparation of financial projections and forecasts as well as handling the ongoing accounting, tax and financial reporting requirements of each project.

Peter Ward – Legal

Mr. Ward is a founding member of Ward & Hagen, LLP and brings over 20 years of experience representing real estate developers, owners and investors in a variety of complex transactional issues from site selection and acquisition, through the due-diligence and entitlement process up to and including construction build out.

Mr. Ward will manage all of ABA’s internal real estate and legal affairs and will provide the interface between ABA’s business goals and the legal processes as may be necessary to protect ABA’s interests and to manage risk.
